마린카운티 한국학교(KSMC)의 교장으로 섬기게 되어 큰 영광으로 생각합니다. 우리 학교가 오랜 시간 쌓아 온 소중한 전통과 발자취를 이어 가게 된 것에 깊이 감사드리며, 새로운 장을 함께 열어 가야 한다는 책임감 또한 느낍니다.

1994년 설립된 이래, 마린카운티 한국학교는 베이 지역 북부에서 한국어와 한국 문화, 역사 교육을 통해 학생들과 가정, 그리고 지역사회를 연결하는 배움의 공동체로 성장해 왔습니다. 오늘의 마린카운티 한국학교가 있기까지는 학생들을 위해 헌신해 주신 교사, 학부모, 이사회, 그리고 지역사회의 따뜻한 관심과 섬김이 있었습니다.

​

우리 학교가 배움의 자리를 이어 갈 수 있도록 공간을 제공해 주시는 샌 라파엘 한인 장로 교회와 지역사회의 따뜻한 섬김에 깊이 감사드립니다. 그 사랑과 후원을 마음에 새기며, KSMC는 학생 한 명 한 명을 귀히 여기고 따뜻하게 돌보는 학교 공동체가 되고자 합니다.

마린카운티 한국학교의 학생들은 저마다 다른 언어적 경험과 문화적 연결, 그리고 다양한 배움의 여정을 가지고 한국학교에 옵니다. 어떤 학생에게 한국어는 가족과 뿌리, 정체성을 이어 주는 언어이고, 어떤 학생에게는 새롭게 알아 가고 싶은 문화와 역사, 공동체를 향한 문입니다. 저희 학교는 학생 한 명 한 명의 배경과 이야기를 소중히 여기며, 모든 학생이 존중받고, 환영받고, 자신의 속도에 맞게 성장할 수 있는 따뜻하고 포용적인 배움의 공간이 되고자 합니다.

앞으로 마린카운티 한국학교는 학생들의 삶과 경험에 연결되는 의미 있는 교육, 한국어와 문화가 살아 있는 교육, 그리고 아이들이 즐겁게 참여하며 배울 수 있는 교육을 만들어 가겠습니다. 언어 교육뿐 아니라 한국의 역사, 전통, 예술, 가치, 그리고 오늘의 한국 문화를 함께 배우며, 학생들이 한국과 개인적이고 지속적인 연결을 맺고 더 넓은 세상을 이해할 수 있도록 돕겠습니다.

또한 마린카운티 한국학교는 지식만을 전달하는 학교가 아니라, 아이들이 서로를 존중하고 배려하며 함께 자라는 따뜻한 공동체가 되기를 소망합니다. 교사, 학부모, 이사회, 그리고 지역사회가 한마음으로 협력하여, 우리 학생들이 사랑 안에서 자신감을 얻고 배움의 기쁨을 경험할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠습니다.

Thank you for visiting the Korean School of Marin County (KSMC) website!

​

It is a great honor to serve as the principal of Korean School of Marin County (KSMC). I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue the meaningful legacy that our school has built over the years, and I feel a strong sense of responsibility as we begin this new chapter together.

​

Since its founding in 1994, KSMC has grown into a vibrant learning community in the North Bay, connecting students, families, and the local community through Korean language, history, and culture. Our school stands today because of the dedication of many teachers, parents, board members, and community supporters who have faithfully served and invested in our students.

​

At KSMC, our students come with unique stories, different language experiences, and diverse connections to Korean culture. For some, Korean is a language that connects them to family, heritage, and identity. For others, it is a doorway into a culture, history, and community they are eager to discover. We value each student’s background and learning journey, and we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child feels seen, respected, and encouraged to grow.

​

As we move forward, KSMC will continue to provide meaningful and engaging learning experiences that connect Korean language and culture to students’ lives. Beyond language instruction, we hope to help students explore Korean history, traditions, arts, values, and contemporary culture so that they may build a personal and lasting connection with Korea and develop a broader understanding of the world around them.

​

We are also committed to strengthening our school community through collaboration among teachers, parents, the board, and community partners. We will continue to work closely with the Northern California Association of Korean Schools and other educational organizations as we develop a thoughtful, well-structured, and high-quality curriculum for our students.

​

My hope is that KSMC will continue to be a place where students find joy in learning, where families feel supported and connected, and where the broader community can experience the beauty and richness of Korean language and culture.

​
